On Wednesday 9 October at 11.00 a.m. in “Circle K Terminal & Transport Latvia” Ltd. boatman Street 7, Riga will host local practical civil protection and disaster management training. The purpose of the training is to the examine and improve the established procedures and measures specified in the civil protection plan of the undertaking, as well as in the civil protection plan of the off-installation.
The training scenario predicts that there is a gasoline leak from a damaged pipeline in the company's area and no gas sensors are working due to a technical failure. At the same time, it will be played out that one of the company's employees suffers from the accident, as well as there is a risk of the hazardous substance being leaked to the environment.
Officials and employees from "Circle K Terminal & Transport Latvia" Ltd., State fire and Rescue Service, Riga municipal Police, Riga City Council Civil Protection and operational information Board, State Police, Riga free Port Authority Port Police, State environmental Service, “G4S” Ltd., “Neste Latvija” Ltd. and “Naftimpeks” Ltd. will participate in the training.
As a part of the training, alarm sirens and employee notification system will be turned on in the company's territory, as well as the movement of special machinery with the beacons and audible signals on will be observed in the city area, so we urge residents not to worry about seeing operational techniques moving to the streets. Training organisers apologise in advance to residents for the burdens caused by operational transport movement and for causing anyone undue upset!
