CBSS Civil Protection Network Senior Experts MeetingPrint

From 21 to 22 February, State Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) organizes an expert-level meeting for representatives of the civil protection area of the Baltic Sea region within the framework of Latvian Presidency of the Baltic Sea State Council (CBSS). Venue – hotel “AVALON”, Riga, 13. janvara street 19.

The meeting will be opened by SFRS deputy chief general Intars Zitans. Experts will discuss the implementation progress of the CBSS Joint Action Plan on Enhancing Cooperation in Civil Protection Area. SFRS representatives will present the results of the discussion from the European Risk Reduction Forum and experts will talk about further cooperation on the Sendai Framework for disaster risk reduction, which is one of the priorities of the Joint Action Plan. Latvian Presidency will present the results of Baltic Leadership Programme (BLP) ALUMNI seminar on “Societal security in the Baltic Sea Region – Challenges and Solutions” and planned BLP courses under the Danish Presidency will be introduced. The results of the HAZARD and EVAPREM projects will be presented.

The Council of the Baltic Sea States is an overall political forum for regional cooperation, consisting of 11 Member States – Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Poland, Russia and Sweden.
